In 2025 I started to document all my outgoing mail, mainly not to forget to send postcards and letters to my pen pals and users of the Postcrossing forum, which I am an active member of, but also to see how many cards and where I send. Since the year is over, it is time to evaluate my mail-sending activities in 2025.
According to my records, I sent 1053 postcards (and letters) in 2025. The number does not include postcards that I sent to my friends though because I usually do not track them. 879 of them were sent for Forum activities and 174 were sent as part of official Postcrossing. I also counted the number of travelling postcards, so my number and the number Postcrossing website gives will be slightly different.
I sent postcards to 74 unique postal territories. I deliberately avoided the word “countries” because some of the places I sent to were e.g. Guam and Cayman Islands.
Top 5 destinations I sent postcards to in 2025 were:
Germany - 176
USA - 158
China - 66
Spain - 43
South Korea - 41

Unfortunately, it is getting more and more expensive to send postcards and letters, so I also decided to see which countries required me to have spent the most money to send to. It turns out it is a bit different from the top 5 above, simply because sending e.g. to Germany is cheaper than to the USA. The real numbers are probably different since there was an increase in postage in April and I counted with the increased cost.

I would say it was a productive mail-sending year, let’s see what 2026 will bring!
